The checks total more than $7,300 and were cashed in three towns in Monmouth and one in Ocean
Police in four Shore-area towns are looking for a man who cashed fraudulent checks worth more than $7,300, according to a report.
Four checks were cashed at TD Banks in Toms River, Ocean Township in Monmouth County, Eatontown and West Long Branch on Aug 20. and Aug. 21, QNS.com reported. The amount of each check was similar -- between $1,760.85 and $1,880.
The victim is a 43-year-old Queens, N.Y. man. He reported the theft to the NYPD on Aug. 29.
On Tuesday, police released surveillance photos of the man from his visits to the Toms River and Ocean Township banks.
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES) and then enter TIP577.
