TRENTON -- Two men were sentenced in federal court Tuesday in connection with a large heroin-distribution ring in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Tyshon "Young Money" Young, 30, of Asbury Park, and Matthew "Star" Miller, 41, of Neptune, were sentence to 21 and 36 months in state prison, respectively, by U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan, said U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman.

Both men, who authorities say are members of the "Britt-Young Drug Trafficking Organization," previously pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin.

The Britt-Young organization is named after its leaders, Robert Britt and Rufus Young, according to a criminal complaint. Britt, 45, and Rufus Young, 42, both of Asbury Park, have each pleaded guilty to narcotics offenses, along with 20 other alleged members of the drug-trafficking group.

According to court documents, Tyshon Young admitted to selling between 40 and 60 grams of heroin between February 2013 and March 2014. Miller admitted to storing the heroin at his home for distribution purposes in that time, court documents show.

Rufus Young, who admitted to distributing between 1 and 3 kilograms of heroin, was sentenced last week to 15 years in prison.

On Tuesday, Sheridan also sentenced Tyshon Young and Miller to each serve three years of supervised release.
