EATONTOWN -- Two men, one armed with a gun, broke into a home on Reynolds Drive early Thursday morning, police said.
Police responded at around 4:40 a.m. to the house after receiving a report of a home invasion.
When officers arrived at the home, they met with the residents, a woman and a man, who said two men forced entry and demanded money, Lt. Theresa Healy said.
One of the suspects had a gun, the lieutenant said. Upon entering the home, they first encountered the man and demanded money from him.

The suspects then told the man to take them to the master bedroom, where the woman was. Healy said they took the woman's cellphone and then ransacked the room.
At some point in the bedroom, the male resident was physically assaulted, Healy said. The two masked suspects then fled from the home.
