MIDDLETOWN -- A woman was injured Saturday evening after a car hit her on Bray Avenue, police said.
The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was struck just after 7 p.m. in the area of Central Avenue in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, police said.
She suffered multiple fractures and her injuries are not life-threatening, police said. After being treated at the scene by the Middletown First Aid Squad, the woman was flown by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. Police said they are not releasing the identity of the driver.
The crash remains under investigation by the Middletown Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit. They ask anyone with information to call 732-615-2100.
