The U.S. Women's Soccer star and her husband plan to open two Jersey Mike's franchises in Toms River in January.
TOMS RIVER -- U.S. Women's Soccer star Christie Rampone has a new challenge - as the co-owner of two Jersey Mike's Subs shops in Ocean County.
Rampone, a Jersey Mike's spokeswoman since 2012, and her husband, Chris, plan to open two franchises in Toms River in January, according to APP.com.
"Playing for so many years and winning so many medals and World Cups, it just felt like I was complete when I got the Jersey Mike's sponsorship and now being able to open some stores puts it to another level," the Manasquan mother of two told the news outlet. "I am so excited."
While they're planning the openings, Rampone and her husband are going through training to run the shops - one in Toms River Center on Route 37 and the other in the Commons at Hooper Shopping Center on Hooper Avenue.
