The man was allegedly angry at the officer for previously arresting him.
MIDDLETOWN -- A township resident threatened to kill a detective who had previously arrested him, court documents allege.
Nicholas Reines, 26, faces charges of retaliation for past official action, terroristic threats and two counts of aggravated assault.
According to court documents, Reines threatened to "shoot and kill" on Aug. 26 Detective Kelley Godley of the Middletown Police Department, who had previously arrested Reines. The documents do not specify what Reines was previously charged with.
As officers were trying to arrest Reines, he started fighting them, causing an injury to detectives Gregory Buhowski and Adam Colfer, the documents said.
Reines was taken to the Monmouth County jail and bail was set at $145,000 cash.
