RED BANK -- When police tried to arrest a Long Branch man on an outstanding child support warrant, police said he didn't go quietly.
On the night of Oct. 12, Red Bank police attempted to take Lamar Hicks, 30, into custody on the 100 block of Shrewsbury Avenue, Chief Darren McConnell confirmed on Monday.
According to criminal complaints, Hicks began throwing punches at the officers on scene and verbally threatened them.
"You're lucky I'm not strapped right now," Hicks shouted, according to the complaint. The complaint said he didn't stop there: "I know where you a (sic) live ... I gang bang," Hicks continued.
Hicks was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault on an officer and terroristic threats (threatening to kill), McConnell said.
He was taken to the Monmouth County jail in lieu of $40,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
