This marks the second fatal crash in just three days in the township.

HOWELL -- One person was killed Sunday after a two-vehicle crash on Route 33, authorities said.

A Subaru was heading westbound on Route 33 when it collided with a Ford pickup truck traveling eastbound, said Charles Webster, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

The driver of the pickup truck, who was not identified, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Webster said.

Webster did not have any additional information as of 7 p.m.

Howell police said in a Facebook post shortly before 5 p.m. that Route 33 was closed between Fairfield and Yellowbrook roads.

The fatal crash marks the second in the township in just three days. On Friday, a 19-year-old Manalapan man was killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle as it crashed with a car, authorities said.
