WALL -- A Neptune man was arrested Saturday after police found him in possession of a handgun and pepper spray, police said.
Ishon Tavor-Peteete, 18, also tried to flee from officers after he was pulled over shortly before midnight for failing to use a turn signal at the intersection of highways 35 and 138, Wall police Chief Robert Brice said.
After a brief chase, officers arrested Peteete after they found a loaded .22-caliber and pepper spray on him, Brice said.
Peteete was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, obstruction, hindering, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Monmouth County jail and bail was set at $100,000 with a 10-percent option.
