NEPTUNE TWP. -- Children on a school bus were taken to the hospital after a fire extinguisher discharged accidentally inside the vehicle Monday morning, officials said.
Neptune police Lt. Michael McGhee said the incident happened at 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of Green Grove Road and West Bangs Avenue.
The bus driver and 15 students were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, officials with the Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management said.
The students and driver reported having difficulty breathing but their injuries are not serious, McGhee said.
