BRICK -- A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he failed to register as a sex offender in the town he now lives in, authorities said.

Anthony M. Palazzo was charged with failure to register as a sex offender within 10 days of moving.

Palazzo was registered with Brick Township, but now lives in Monmouth County, said Al Della Fave, a spokesman with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Detectives with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Marlboro police arrested Palazzo. He was taken to the Monmouth County jail and will be transferred to the Ocean County jail after he is processed, Della Fave said.

If convicted, Palazzo is facing a maximum penalty of five years in state prison and a $15,000 fine.
