OCEAN TOWNSHIP -- Two teenagers were arrested Saturday night after one of them held up another 17-year-old boy with a knife to steal alcohol, police said.
A 17-year-old was walking his dog on Aldrin Road in the Twinbrook Village apartment complex when he was approached by another 17-year-old who sparked a conversation, Ocean Township police Detective Lt. Timothy Torchia said in a statement.
As the two were conversing, a third 17-year-old approached the teenager walking his dog and took out a knife, Torchia said.
The two demanded the dog-walking teenager give them alcohol, Torchia said.
Torchia said the victim called a friend, who brought the alcohol to the location and also notified police about the incident.
The two 17-year-olds then ran away with the alcohol, Torchia said. Police were able to locate them in the same complex, Torchia said.
They were arrested and charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.
The two teenagers were taken to the Middlesex Youth Detention Center. Their identities were not released by police because they are under 18.
