ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS -- A Coast Guard crew rescued five people on a boat that became disabled Sunday and was driving toward submerged pilings at the Atlantic Highlands Marina, authorities said.
The crew, from the Coast Guard's Sandy Hook station, noticed the boat had lost power to its outboard engine and was drifting toward pilings at the entrance of the marina, according to a statement from the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard crew tossed a line over to the vessel and successfully attached the tow line, the statement said.
The vessel was then safely towed away from the pilings and to the Atlantic Highlands boat ramp, the Coast Guard said.
There were no injuries and no damage to the vessel.
