HAZLET -- A call for a sick child at a hotel room Tuesday led to the arrest of a 27-year-old woman after authorities found 1,000 heroin bags, police said Friday.
Police responded to the Holiday Inn on Route 35 after receiving a call about a sick child. While the officers were providing aid to the child, they spotted packets of heroin inside the room, police said.
Police said they found nearly 1,000 heroin packets and other drugs.
A 27-year-old woman, whom authorities did not identify, was arrested and charged with multiple narcotics offenses and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
The woman was taken to the Monmouth County jail in lieu of $232,000 bail.
