Ruperto Ozuna, 49, of Bayonne, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and weapons offenses, police said.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP -- A 49-year-old Bayonne man was arrested Monday two days after he threatened to stab someone with a steak knife inside an Ocean Township restaurant, police said.

Ruperto Ozuna was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and weapons offenses for the May 13 confrontation inside the Red Lobster on Route 35, Ocean Township police Detective Lt. Timothy R. Torchia announced in a statement.

Torchia said Ozuna confronted two people he knew at the restaurant. During the confrontation, Ozuna grabbed a steak knife and threatened to stab one of the people, Torchia said.

A struggle over the knife ensued but employees at the Red Lobster were able to break it up, Torchia said. Ozuna then left the restaurant before police arrived at 7:13 p.m.

One of the people Ozuna confronted suffered a cut to the face and lip but declined medical attention, Torchia said.

Ozuna turned himself in on Monday and was taken to the Monmouth County jail.
