One person was burned but declined medical attention, police said.

INTERLAKEN -- A massive blaze destroyed a landscaping trailer Thursday morning on a residential street of this tiny Jersey Shore borough.

Deal police and members of the Allenhurst and Wanamassa Fire Departments responded to Barra Street for the blaze, which was reported at 9:35 a.m.

Police Sgt. Brian Egan said the rider of a lawnmower told police it appeared the fire started when the fuel line came off and ignited on the muffler.

He attempted to extinguish the flames and burned his arm, Egan said. The worker declined medical attention at the scene, Egan said.

No other injuries were reported.

Interlaken is a tiny borough of roughly 900 full-time residents. It's nestled between Ocean Township, Loch Arbour and Asbury Park, and is patrolled by the Deal Police Department.

The scene was cleared by 11 a.m.
