Dig out your wands and get ready for the sorting hat, PotterCon USA is coming to New Jersey.
ASBURY PARK -- "Accio" your wand and robes, and head to the Convention Center in Asbury Park June 10 for New Jersey's ultimate Harry Potter experience, PotterCon.
PotterCon -- a festival of all things relating to the Harry Potter book and film series -- is a touring, adult-oriented event that will also make a stop in Philadelphia on May 14, according to the Asbury Park Press.
PotterCon activities include a sorting ceremony, a costume contest, in memoriam moment for all the Potter characters who have passed on, trivia, photo booth, and the house cup, said APP.com. The event is for fans 21 and older only.
Founded in 2012 by Brooklyn's Margaret Kaminski, PotterCon is a party for Potter fans who are now grown up, but still love the world of Harry Potter.
According to PotterCon USA's Facebook page, Potter fans are encouraged to "join their fellow Potterheads for the official day-drinking and mingling interactive destination for witches, wizards, squibs, and magical creatures alike."
In 2016, the New York and Memphis PotterCons attracted more than 3,500 Potter fans. This year, PotterCon will make stops in Philadelphia, Boston, Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan, and Long Island, New York.
Tickets are $15 and are available at Ticketmaster.
PotterCon is not affiliated with the Harry Potter books or movies, but exudes the spirit of Hogwarts and the magic of the world brought to life by J.K. Rowling in 1997 with the first book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" -- also known as "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."
