17-year-old wounded in Asbury Park shooting

The teenager was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound.

ASBURY PARK -- Authorities are investigating a shooting in the city on Sunday that left a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound. 

The teen's injury was treated and released from a local hospital the same day, said Charles Webster, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. on the 600 block of Church Street, Webster said. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.

The shooting is under investigation by the Asbury Park Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
