Authorities said Marc Marinoff distributed and possessed child pornography with other people electronically.
MARLBORO - A 30-year-old township resident who teaches at a middle school in Keansburg was arrested Thursday and charged with child pornography, authorities said.
Marc S. Marinoff was arrested after investigators with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Computer Crimes Unit confiscated his personal electronic devices and found he possessed and distributed child pornography videos, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said in a press release.
Marinoff, who is a teacher at the Joseph R. Bolger Middle School in Keansburg, distributed the videos directly to other computer users through an electronic file-sharing network, Gramiccioni said.
An attorney representing Marinoff, Mitchell Ansell of Ansell, Grimm & Aaron, said he hasn't had a chance to review the case yet.
"These are charges and they're not evidence of guilt," Ansell said. "We'll review the case together and we'll have a comment after that."
Marinoff was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for distributing and possessing child pornography, Gramiccioni said.
He faces up to 10 years in prison.
