The restaurant chain will donate every dollar of its sales from Wednesday, March 29 to local charities as part of its annual "Month of Giving".
More than 50 Jersey Mike's Subs restaurants throughout northern and central New Jersey will be donating all of their Wednesday sales to charity as the culmination of the restaurant chain's 7th Annual "Month of Giving."
Jersey Mike's is partnering with Make-A-Wish New Jersey this year to donate every dollar that comes in during the March 29 "Day of Giving" to partner charities. Franchise owners picked which charity should receive the donation.
Nationwide, Jersey Mike's locations will donate 100 percent of their Wednesday sales to nearly 150 different partner charities as part of the campaign, including hospitals, youth organizations and food banks.
"We have long admired the good work of Make-A-Wish and are honored to partner with the organization in the tri-state area for Jersey Mike's 7th Annual Month of Giving. Seeing the joy on the children's faces when their wishes are granted is priceless," said Mike Manzo, chief operating officer of Jersey Mike's Subs, said in an emailed statement.
The campaign raised more than $240,000 from Jersey Mike's locations throughout New Jersey in 2016.
Tom Weatherall, president and chief executive officer of Make-A-Wish New Jersey, said the New Jersey chapter of Make-A-Wish granted a record 483 wishes throughout the state in 2016.
"Our goal for 2017 is even more ambitious- to find and grant the wishes of well over 500 New Jersey children," Weatherall said in a release. "We are wildly confident in, and deeply grateful for, this tremendous support from our friends at Jersey Mike's Subs."
Other Make-A-Wish chapters in the Tri-State area are benefiting as well, as 11 Jersey Mike's locations in Connecticut, two Jersey Mike's location in Manhattan and two Long Island locations are benefiting their local Make-A-Wish Chapters.
Last year's Month of Giving campaign raised more than $4 million for charities nationwide.
Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations have raised more than $20 million for local charities and have distributed more than 1.5 million free subs to help numerous causes.
