Lumber stacked at Taylor Fence in Howell caught fire early Wednesday
HOWELL - Firefighters battled an overnight blaze Wednesday at a fence company headquarters and storage yard in Monmouth County, fire officials said.
The fire burned through piles of lumber stacked at Taylor Fence in Howell and forced the closure of Route 33 between Colts Neck Road and the Route 34 circle. Crews had to use a backhoe to pull apart the lumber piles and extinguish the blaze.
Multiple fire companies from Howell and surrounding towns responded the blaze.
Additional details on the extent of the damage were not immediately available.
