The crash originated on Route 33 and an SUV veered into the Wawa gas station
NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP - One person was hospitalized after a five-car crash Monday at the Wawa gas pumps at the intersection of routes 33 and 35 in Neptune Township, police said.
The injured person was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.
The crash started on Route 33 when an SUV and another vehicle tried to merge into the same lane, according to an account on NJ1015.com. The SUV veered over a landscaped area and crashed into cars waiting in line at the Wawa gas pump, the report said.
There was no gas leak from the pumps, but the office of emergency management was called to clean up a fluid spill from the damaged vehicles, police said.
