ASBURY PARK -- Firefighters from four Jersey Shore towns responded to a fire in the basement of a home on First Avenue on Monday, officials said.
Asbury Park Fire Department Chief Kevin Keddy said a call of a working fire at 1110 First Avenue came in at 1:26 p.m.
Firefighters from Asbury Park, Neptune, Deal and Long Branch responded to the home.
The fire appears to have started in the basement in the area of the dryer, Keddy said, but the investigation is in its early stages.
The occupants of the home were already outside when firefighters arrived at the scene, Keddy said. There were no reported injuries.
The structure of the home did not appear to suffer major damage. However, smoke emanated from windows of the home. Firefighters could be seen going into the home with fans.
