NEW YORK CITY - A Red Bank motorist was arrested after the car he was driving crashed into a security barrier at the World Trade Center, officials said Saturday.
Port Authority police charged Paul S. Cederdahl, 47, with drunk driving in the wreck at Church and Fulton streets around 1:30 p.m. Friday, according to agency spokesman Joe Pentangelo.
Officer Henri Portner responded to the crash and found the black Volvo running, with an open bottle of Svedka Vodka on the passenger-side floor, the spokesman added.
The officer reported that Cederdahl was "swaying and could not stand," according to Pentangelo. The driver was incoherent and spoke with slurred speech during an interview.
Cederdahl refused to take a breathalyzer, the spokesman said. There were no injuries.
