Marlboro police are looking for more information about the crash that killed the 58-year-old woman
MARLBORO -- A Marlboro woman was killed after she was hit by a pickup truck in town, authorities said Thursday.
Patrick Warnock 59, of Freehold Borough, was driving his 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck north on Route 79 in Marlboro when he hit Zhen-Chun Qi, 58, of the Wickatunk section of Marlboro, said Marlboro police Capt. Fred Reck.
Reck said investigators are still trying to determine in what direction Zhen-Chun was walking when she was hit at 6:12 a.m. on Wednesday near Ridge Road.
She was rushed to Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel where she was pronounced dead a short time later, he said.
Route 79 in that area was closed for three hours while police investigated, he said.
