His desperate hack defense aside, DiBella already admitted posted bigoted remarks about Black Lives Matter. That's enough to get him sacked.
The vice-chair of the Brookdale Community College trustees owns a basket of deplorables. He "likes" tweets that depict the president as a monkey. He "likes" tweets about the First Lady and transgenders that are vile. There are 35 offensive observations that received his approbation since 2014.
At no time in those two years did Joseph DiBella renounce these bon mots. But when someone called him on it, and reminded him that he represents a publicly-funded college, DiBella did what cowards do: He blamed them on someone else.
Who's advising this guy, Anthony Weiner?
At a trustee meeting, DiBella hinted that the faculty union hacked his account. That was met with jeers, so he decided that someone "might have" created images of the tweets and doctored them to make it appear as if he "liked" them.
An elected official who considers DiBella a friend put it this way: "His explanation is total BS. The sentiments that he endorsed crossed numerous unacceptable lines in judgment and substance."
The Monmouth prosecutor is making a perfunctory inquiry into his hacking claim, but the Brookdale president and Board need not delay. DiBella already admitted he authored a racist post about African Americans not responding to flood victims because "you can't burn and loot buildings under water." It's how he rolls. They need to put him on a bus.
