HOWELL -- Police are asking the public to help them identify two suspects who allegedly purchased more than $1,000 worth of candy bars, Gatorade and fast food with gift cards bought with stolen identities.

The New Jersey State Police said on its Facebook page that the two men purchased several store gift cards on Friday at the Wal-Mart on Route 9 in Howell using stolen identities and then went on a shopping spree with the cards.

The men bought candy bars and Gatorade at the Wal-Mart before making more purchases at the Chic-fil-A, also on Route 9 in Howell, police said. In all, the men made purchases totaling $1,200, police said.

"The suspects pictured here allegedly used eight different stolen identities to purchase gift cards valued at $150," police said in the Facebook post.

State Police asked that anyone with information call Trooper Ashley at the Hamilton station. His phone number is 609-584-5000 ext. 5267. Anonymous tips are welcome, police said.
