Facilty was cleared after the discovery of a suspicious package
EATOWNTOWN -- Local police and a bomb and arson squad from the State Police were investigating a suspicious package at a FedEx shipping center Thursday night.
Police were called sometime before 8:30 p.m. to the business on Industrial Way when the package was discovered.
"A package has been safely isolated at our facility in Eatontown. We are cooperating with authorities on the scene who are investigating. The facility has been cleared to ensure the safety and security of our team members," said Jim Masilak, a FedEx spokesman.
Masilak declined to release additional information, citing the ongoing investigation. A State Police spokesman also said additional information was not immediately available.
