NY Waterway is now offering families a discounted opportunity to travel to New York City while also staying cool during the heat of summer.
Kids under the age of 12 will ride for free on NY Waterway ferries between New Jersey and Manhattan through Labor Day, Sept. 5.
The ferries offer passengers the chance to enjoy their trip across the Hudson River on outdoor decks or from within the air-conditioned cabins.
The "Kids Ride Free" initiative is done in association with NY Waterway's Your Key To The City partner program, which offers discounts of up to 56 percent on tickets to top NYC museums, attractions and tours, such as the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, Madame Tussauds and more.
Packages include discounted attraction tickets, 28 percent off round-trip ferry tickets and discounted parking at the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal in Weehawken.
Ferries travel to midtown and downtown Manhattan from Edgewater, Port Imperial and Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken, 14th Street in Hoboken and from Belford/Middletown in Monmouth County.
Service between Port Imperial, Lincoln Harbor or 14th Street in Hoboken and 39th Street operates all day, seven days a week. Edgewater and Belford service is available during weekday morning and evening rush hour.
NY Waterway's mobile ticketing app for smartphones allows customers to purchase tickets instantly as well as locate in real-time NY Waterway's free Manhattan buses when they are ready to head home.
