Ajee' Wilson, who starred at Neptune High School in New Jersey, placed second in her heat of the women's 800-meter run in 1:59.44 on Wednesday to advance to the semifinal round at Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 22 year-old Wilson, who turned pro after graduating from Neptune in 2012, placed second in her heat behind gold medal favorite Caster Semenya of South Africa, who ran 1:59.31. Full results of the first round of the 800.
The semifinal round is scheduled to begin Thursday at 8:15 p.m. Here's the start lists for the semifinals.
Wilson, second in the 800 at the World Championships this past indoor season, qualified for her first Olympic team last month when she finished second to Kate Grace at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Grace also advanced to the semifinal round by running 1:59.96 to place third in her heat.
