Tyrita Julius was recovering from a shooting at the time of her disappearance
FREEHOLD -- A man and a woman have been charged in the death of Tyrita R. Julius, a 41-year-old mother who disappeared in March after heading to meet a friend in Monmouth County.
Authorities converged on the Long Branch home of Andre Harris, 32, app.com reported Tuesday. He and Jennifer Sweeney, 33, of Tinton Falls have been charged with murder, desecration of human remains and tampering with physical evidence, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.
More information on the arrests was expected to be released Wednesday, authorities also told app.com.
In November, just months before her disappearance, Julius and her 15-year-old daughter were both shot in front of their home by a man neither knew. In April, authorities said there may be a link between the shooting and her disappearance.
Family members issued an impassioned plea for information on her whereabouts as officials intensified their search in the spring.

"Please, please, we're begging you. If you know where Tyrita is, please let us know, however it may be. Because not knowing is worst of all," said Claudia Scruggs of Rahway, the paternal grandmother of Julius' two children, in April.
