A 42-year-old township man was arrested and charged with operating a marijuana-growing facility, police said.

HOWELL -- A cache of weapons, including a grenade launcher, and 30 pot plants were seized from a township home on Friday, police announced on Tuesday.

Christopher Kilbride, 42, was arrested after police raided his Route 34 house, the former home for high-level officers with Naval Weapons Station Earl, Howell police Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said in a news release.

Antunez said police were investigating the home as a possible marijuana-grow and distribution operation.

Authorities found 30 marijuana plants, a grenade launcher, a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, rifles and a gram of cocaine at the home, police said. They do not believe the weapons were stolen.

Kilbride was charged with operating a marijuana grow, possession of a destructive device, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of weapons while involved in drug distribution.

He was taken to the Monmouth County jail and bail was set at $352,000.

A friend of Kilbride's, Amy O'Connor, 25, of Manasquan, was charged with drug paraphernalia for a crack pipe and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. She was issued a summons and released.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, New Jersey State Police and Naval Criminal Investigative Service assisted in the search.
