The heat wave headed for the Garden State this weekend may have residents wishing they had a place of their own on the Jersey Shore to go when the temperature soars to near 100 degrees.
For those who want a home in one of New Jersey's many beachfront communities, the real estate search can start this weekend. Open houses are planned at properties in Ocean City, Ocean Grove and elsewhere on Saturday and Sunday.

Among the properties that house hunters can tour is a four-bedroom home in Brigantine that was recently put on the market for $369,000. The roughly 1,250 square foot, single-family home sits within walking distance of the beach, bay and local businesses.
Head further north along the Jersey Shore to explore an expanded ranch in Long Beach Township that is up for sale for $1.099 million. That single-family home features a deck that overlooks an in-ground pool and spa set in what's described as a "private backyard oasis."
Open houses are also scheduled at a single-family home in Ocean City, a townhome in Pelican Island and a historic home with ocean and lake views in Ocean Grove.
