HOWELL - At least two people were reportedly hospitalized Wednesday following a serious motor vehicle crash near the Lakewood border.
Shortly before noon on Wednesday, the Howell Township Police Department issued an alert advising motorist to avoid Route 9 near the Lakewood border due to a serious motor vehicle collision.
Police said at that time that Route 9 would be closed in both directions - between Kennedy Boulevard and Alexander Avenue - until further notice.
The Lakewood Scoop reported that two people were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune from the crash scene - one by Lakewood EMS and one by Lakewood Hatzolah.
At least one of those patients was reported to have suffered serious injuries, the website reported.
