It's the second straight year a New Jersey man has died at the slate quarry
A 20-year-old New Jersey man drowned while swimming at a slate quarry in Pennsylvania over the weekend, according to a report.
Authorities haven't yet identified the man, who was among a group of eight swimming at Seven Slopes of Slate in Bangor at about 3 p.m. Sunday.
The deceased was a resident of Howell, according to MCall.com.
The fenced-off quarry, which has 100-foot high cliffs, has several "No Trespassing" signs, LehighValleyLive.com reported.
A 22-year-old Ridgefield man died at the quarry in June 2015. Bangor police have been trying for years to keep trespassers out, handing out 41 citations two years ago.
