MATAWAN - Authorities are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found in a van at the Aberdeen-Matawan train station on Friday morning.

At approximately 10 a.m., the Matawan police responded to the train station after receiving a 911 call, Matawan police Lt. Ben Smith said.

The officers located the bodies of two middle-aged males inside of a van at the train station, Smith said.

The identities of the middle-aged men were not released, pending notification of their next of kin.

Representatives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the medical examiner's office also responded to the scene for the investigation.

Smith said authorities had not determined the cause of death for the men as of 3:30 p.m. on Friday

There were no obvious signs of foul play or suicide, Smith said, adding that the medical examiner was scheduled to autopsies on Saturday morning.
