We're right smack in the middle of summer and there is much to do at the Jersey Shore.

WE'VE GOT some of the best Shore events to seek out in July.

Junior Olympics, Sea Isle City

This exercise event for children, ages 3 to 13, will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Dealy Field, located at 59th and 63rd streets and Central Avenue. For information, call (609) 263-0050 or visit visitsicnj.com.

Ocean City Freckle Contest

All freckled-face participants can begin registering at 6 p.m. in front of the Music Pier, at Moorlyn Terrace and the boardwalk. For information, call (609) 399-6111.

Bacon Fest, Tuckerton

It's a weekend of bacon at the Tuckerton Seaport, 120 W. Main St. The festival will feature food trucks and restaurant fare, pig races and a bacon-eating competition on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $8; children younger than 5 will be admitted free. 12th annual Celtic Festival, Cold Spring

28th annual LBIF Fine Art Festival, Loveladies

Local, regional and national artisans will exhibit art at 120 Long Beach Blvd. The festival will feature paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography and more. Sponsored by the LBI Foundation for the Arts and Sciences, the event will run Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 and parking is free. Brazilian Festival, Long Branch

New Jersey's Brazilian community will celebrate its culture with dance, music and food, from 11 a.m to 4 p.m., on the Great Lawn.

Ocean City Beach Patrol Women's Lifeguard Invitational Races

Women representing the 15 beach patrols along the South Jersey coast will compete in this annual invitational race. The competition begins at 6:15 p.m., at the 34th Street Beach. For information, call (609) 399-6111.

Chip Miller Surf Fest, Ocean City

A surf contest and water park party will raise awareness for amyloidosis, a rare disease that causes abnormal buildup of amyloid protein in the body. This family-friendly event has become one of the largest surf gatherings on the East Coast. Registration is $35. The event is open to all ages. Visionary Tattoo Arts Festival, Asbury Park

Tattoo artists will be practicing their craft all weekend at Convention Hall, 1300 Ocean Ave. The event runs on Friday, from 2 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, from noon to midnight; and Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m. There will be live music, contests, burlesque and more. Tickets are only available at the show. Day tickets are $20; weekend passes are $40; children younger than 12 are admitted free.
