A prosecutor's office investigation found that Ashley Weathers, 32, and Christian Boyle, 40, both of Freehold Township, had been distributing the drug in Union County.
ELIZABETH -- Two Freehold residents were arrested and a methamphetamine lab in a self-storage unit has been dismantled after an investigation into meth sales in Union County, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Thursday.
Park said a prosecutor's office investigation found that Ashley Weathers, 32, and Christian Boyle, 40, both of Freehold Township, had been distributing the drug in Union County.
The pair were arrested after they were pulled over on Routes 1&9 in Rahway yesterday evening and police found approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine in their car, Park said.
A search warrant was then executed at Boyle's Freehold storage unit by members of the Task Force, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, and the Freehold Borough Police Department, Park said. There, she said, authorities found a fully functional methamphetamine lab, complete with large amounts of pseudoephedrine, chemicals often mixed with pseudoephedrine to produce methamphetamine, and several pieces of equipment used to mix them.
Weathers and Boyle are each charged with first-degree maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility, second-degree possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and a related third-degree drug charge.
Bail for Weathers and Boyle was set at $250,000 apiece and they are both lodged in the Union County Jail.
The lab was safely dismantled by members of the New Jersey State Police Hazardous Materials Response Unit and the Monmouth County Hazmat Unit, Park said. Evidence was seized and processed by the Union County Sheriff's Office's Identification Unit, she said.
