Horath was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup eastbound when the truck veered off the right side of the road after failing to negotiate a curve, Fox21News.com said. The truck struck a delineator post and a mile-marker sign before re-entering the road.

It then careened across both eastbound lanes and slid off the left side of the road before tumbling over an embankment into a river.

Horath, who authorities say was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the pickup. The crash took place two miles west of Manitou Springs.

Alcohol is suspected of contributing to the crash, which is under investigation, according to the Denver Post.
