NEPTUNE TWP. -- A man was shot and killed Monday night at the VFW on Route 33, police said.
Neptune police Lt. Michael McGhee said the shooting happened at 8 p.m. An adult man was killed, he added.
No additional information was available Monday night.
The shooting death is the township's second in 2016.
In February, a 20-year-old Bradley Beach man was gunned down on 7th Avenue. That was the first fatal shooting in Neptune in six years, police said at the time.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is assisting with the investigation of Monday night's shooting.
