WEST LONG BRANCH -- A West Long Branch man has been ticketed for flying Donald Trump flags outside his home.
The police department says he's in violation of a municipal ordinance prohibiting the display of lawn signs more than 30 days before an election.
The resident, Joseph Hornick, says the ordinance doesn't apply to him because his flying flags -- not displaying lawn signs. He contends banning his flags is a violation of his right to free speech.

realsandman123 My opinion is, the cops essentially told him that if he didn't take it down he'd be fined. He refused, he got fined. End of story.
vivere: Let's suppose, prior to Trump running for election, I was simply a Trump fan (like one would be a Giants fan). And I had his photo and name flying high on my flag post. Once he announced his run for the presidency, are you saying that I should be required to remove it? Think about that for a moment.
