The woman was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for injuries suffered in the single-vehicle crash.
WALL -- A Neptune woman was charged with DWI after police say her Ford Explorer rolled over the grass median on Route 18 Friday.
Sharon D. Bradley, 41, was injured in the single-vehicle crash and taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Wall police Detective Lt. Greg Carpino said in a statement sent to news outlets. Carpino did not say how serious her injuries were.
When police responded to the crash at around 7:38 a.m., Bradley's car was lying in the southbound lanes of Route 18.
A preliminary investigation found that Bradley was driving her Explorer northbound on the highway when it left the roadway, tumbled over the grass median and came to a rest in the traffic lanes.
Bradley was able to exit the vehicle, Carpino said.
She was charged with DWI and other motor-vehicle offenses.
The Glendola Fire Department, paramedics and Wall Township Emergency Medical Service personnel responded to the crash.
The highway was reduced down to one traffic lane for approximately an hour and all lanes were closed for 15 minutes while the vehicle was removed.
The crash remains under investigation, and Carpino urged anyone with information to contact Wall police Officer Michael Tancredi at 732-449-4500.
