ASBURY PARK -- A city resident is facing aggravated assault charges after he allegedly stabbed two people Saturday night.
Police responded at around 8:15 p.m. to the 100 block of Atkins Avenue for a report of two stabbing victims.
Police learned that a dispute between an unidentified victim and Eric Weston, 43, turned violent outside a residence, Asbury Park police Officer Michael Casey said. Weston stabbed the victim with a "sharp object," Casey said in a text message. A second person who attempted to intervene was also injured, Casey added.
Both victims received non-life threatening injuries. One victim was treated at the scene, Casey said, and the other was taken to a local hospital and later released.
Weston was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.
He was taken to the Monmouth County jail and bail was set at $15,000.
